Dimensions: These de Gournay wallpapers are produced as panels in any height up to 4.3m. Total panel length is 0.60 more than the chosen design height when ordering via the straight run method and 0.30m more than your wall height when ordering via the tailored method. These wallpapers are 0.915m wide after trimming except where marked. Customization of design elements, colourways and panel heights are fully available though subject to additional charge.

Details: In “The Foundation of North America” de Gournay set out to represent in an imagined ideal East – West transept of the country in a collection of scenes from the early years of North American history starting with the Mayflower and the settler fathers landing at Plymouth Rock and ending with the natural wonders that confronted the first settlers to set eyes upon Yellowstone and the Redwood forests of the West Coast. This is a series of imagined vignettes from across a wide range of years and not intended to be treated as a historically accurate document, but handles a subject that is markedly missing from the range of 19th Century historical Papiers Peints designs and which in our view the great designers in this subject, Joseph Fuchs, Carle Vernet and Jean-Gabriel Charvet would have tackled given more time.
