Dimensions: These de Gournay wallpapers are produced as panels in any height up to 4.3m. Total panel length is 0.60 more than the chosen design height when ordering via the straight run method and 0.30m more than your wall height when ordering via the tailored method. These wallpapers are 0.915m wide after trimming except where marked. Customisation of design elements, colourways and panel heights are fully available though subject to additional charge.

Details: Although attributed to the manufacturer Jules Desfosse and dated to the first half of the 19th century, very little is known about this design, not even its original title, de Gournay’s reproduction from surviving examples shows a traditional Chinese landscape at the turn of the 19th Century and includes images of Early European trading. The accuracy of the detail makes it likely that the mural’s designer had access to the recently published work on China of travelers Thomas Daniell R.A and the architect Thomas Allom.
