from Greek mythology, the son of Penelope and Odysseus. Homer’s Iliad records that Odysseus had set off to war 20 years before and failed to return so upon coming of age Telemachus set out on his own journey to find his father. The mural records the events of part of that journey on the Island of Calypso where Odysseus had been held captive.
