Description: Upon visiting Nijo Castle in Kyoto, Sean was inspired by the massive doors of the ancient Japanese fortress. The Nijo series draws on a number of attributes from that experience. The tables are cast in resin. The copper version is then electroplated and receives a hand finished patina. The coloration of the patina is a result of natural oxidation, each table will be unique, slight variation is to be expected. The black volcanic rock version is cast using ground volcanic rock from the island of Java.
