Alchemy describes the magical and mysterious powers of transforming something commonplace into something extraordinary. This collection of textiles, trimmings and wallcovering is inspired by precious metals. Metallic effects transform these materials into beautiful surfaces with luxurious detail. Many of the fabrics have matte shine effects or twisted metallic yarns, which are combined with the natural beauty of flax and cotton fibers. Included are several sheers and curtain weight fabrics that are composed of linen and are given metallic accents for a modern look.
Details: Samsara refers to the Buddhist concept of the cyclical nature of life. This scenic silk lampas weave features a design adapted from a temple mural panel, that depicts temples and figures at play in the surrounding gardens. An antiqued texture overlays the entire design, resembling the crackled, aged look of a centuries old mural painting. The fine silk and rayon yarns are both lustrous and luxurious in weight, woven in colors inspired by Chinese blue and white porcelain and a traditional multihued version on a gold background.
